Prabhakar Machwe

Prabhakar Machwe (1917–1991) wrote in both Hindi and Marathi, producing poetry, essays, short stories, criticism, novels, travelogues, and humorous sketches across more than a hundred books. He served as Secretary of the Sahitya Akademi and contributed several volumes to the Akademi's Makers of Indian Literature series, including studies of Namdev, Tukaram, Keshavsut, and Kabir. His monograph on Kabir, published in 1968, examines the life and legacy of the medieval poet-saint.
