PNK Bamzai

Prithivi Nath Kaul Bamzai (1910–2007) was a Kashmiri Pandit scholar commissioned by Kashmir's prime minister Sheikh Abdullah to research and write a comprehensive history of the valley. He later served as editor of the Illustrated Kashmir in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. His major work, A History of Kashmir: Political, Social, Cultural, from the Earliest Times to the Present Day, surveys Kashmir's rulers from early Hindu kings through Mughal rule, tracing the region's contributions to Sanskrit and Persian literature and to its blended cultural heritage.
