Phillip Gowins

Phillip Gowins was born in Minneapolis in 1945 and has been a teacher in the Sufi Order in the West since his initiation by Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan in 1979. He runs a Sufi Centre in Yonkers, New York. His book The Sovereign Soul: Sufism — A Path for Today draws on twenty-five years of study under Pir Vilayat and presents an introduction to Sufism alongside practical examples and exercises for pursuing the mystical path.
