Perundevi

Perundevi Srinivasan writes poetry and critical prose in Tamil and has published eight anthologies of poetry over two decades. She holds a Ph.D in interdisciplinary human sciences from George Washington University and is Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Siena College. Her Tamil books published by Kalachuvadu include critical essays on caste, nation, and religion (தேசம்-சாதி-சமயம்), a volume on sexual violence as social practice, and a collection of essays on the Tamil modernist Asokamittiran. She has also translated into Tamil the vachana poetry of the twelfth-century Kannada mystic Akkamahadevi (மூச்சே நறுமணமானால்). She is a contributor to Words Without Borders.
