Padamshri Sitaram Lalas

Sitaram Lalas (29 December 1908 – 29 December 1986) was a linguist and lexicographer who devoted over four decades to the Rajasthani language. He produced the first comprehensive dictionary of Rajasthani, the Rajasthani Sabad Kosh, and was honoured with the Padma Shri in 1977 for his contributions. The Encyclopaedia Britannica acknowledged him as the torchbearer of the Rajasthani language. His work History of Rajasthani Grammar and Literature surveys the grammatical tradition and literary heritage of Rajasthani in Hindi.
