P.T. Narasimhachar

P.T. Narasimhachar (1905–1998) was a Kannada poet and Fellow of the Sahitya Akademi who received the Sahitya Akademi Award for Kannada in 1966 for his musical plays. His long poem Male Degula meditates on the temple at Melukote and draws on imagery from modern science to explore philosophical and religious themes. The English translation, The Hill Temple, was published by the Sahitya Akademi.
