Nikky-Guninder Kaur Singh is an Indian-born American scholar of Sikhism, serving as the Crawford Family Professor of Religious Studies and Chair of the Department of Religious Studies at Colby College. Born in India, she pursued her higher education in the United States, earning degrees from Wellesley College, the University of Pennsylvania, and Temple University. Her scholarship focuses on Sikhism, poetics, and feminist issues, and she is known for translating Sikh religious works into English and examining gender in Sikhism. Singh has authored numerous books and articles, including The Feminine Principle in the Sikh Vision of the Transcendent, Sikhism: An Introduction, and The First Sikh: The Life and Legacy of Guru Nanak. In Cosmic Symphony (The Early and Later Poems of Bhai Vir Singh), published by Sahitya Akademi, she delves into the poetic works of the influential Sikh literary figure Bhai Vir Singh.
