Dr. Nagaratna Hegde is a prolific Sanskrit scholar and passionate educator with over 40 years of experience, closely associated with Samskrita Bharati since its inception. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Sanskrit and has published nine books in Sanskrit, alongside translating many works from Kannada into Sanskrit for prestigious institutions like the National Book Trust of India and Samskrita Bharati. Her contributions include मनः तत्प्रशमनं च (A Sanskrit Translation of 'Mind and Its Control'), रामायणीयम् (Raamaayaneeyam), a collection of twenty-five sub-stories based on the Ramayana, and रुचिराः बालकथाः (Ruchiraah Baalakathaah), a collection of children's stories for which she received the Kuvempu Bhasha Bharati Book award and the Kendra Sahitya Academy Puraskar.
