Muhammed Mytheen Vakkom

Muhammed Mytheen Vakkom was a pioneering linguist, thinker, and translator from Kerala, celebrated for producing the first complete Malayalam translation of the Holy Qur'an in the Malayalam script. Although completed in 1953, his monumental work, വിശుദ്ധఖుർആൻ (ആദ്യ മലയാളവിവർത്തനം) (Visudha Quran (Aadya Malayalavivarthanam)), was published posthumously by Kerala University in 2009. His efforts significantly influenced the Muslim community in Kerala by making religious knowledge accessible in their native language. Vakkom also authored അറബിവ്യാകരണപാഠങ്ങൾ (Arabi Vyakarana Paadangal), a text on Arabic grammar, further demonstrating his linguistic expertise.
