Mirza Y. Dawud of Persia co-translated Burning and Melting — a rendering of the Sūz-u-Gudāz, a sixteenth-century Persian poem by Muhammad Rizā Nau'ī of Khabūshān — into English, together with the art historian and philosopher Ananda K. Coomaraswamy. The work, published as part of the Wisdom of the East series and later by Pilgrims Publishing, presents verse meditations on devotional love and the theme of self-immolation through grief.
