Meenakshi Sundaram Pillai

Meenakshi Sundaram Pillai (1815–1876) was a Tamil scholar and the teacher of the celebrated researcher U.V. Swaminatha Iyer. He conducted extensive research into Saiva Agamas and sthalapuranas and compiled temple histories (thala varalaaru) for ninety temples across Tamil Nadu. சோமன்னர் வரலாறு (History of the Somans), published by Sri Bharathi Publications, Chennai, is among his historical works examining South Indian dynastic lineages.
