Maya Goray

Maya Goray, who holds a BA in English Honours from Delhi University and has written for newspapers and journals on the arts, brings her interest in Raj history and Odissi dance to her fiction. Her novel Devadasi is set in the Madras Presidency in the late Victorian era, tracing the life of a dancer whose personal story intersects with questions of race, gender, religion, and power.
