M. Leelavarthy

M. Leelavarthy is a prominent Malayalam literary critic and the recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award for her work Kavitadhwani. She has published more than fifteen books in Malayalam spanning criticism, biography, essays, and translation. Her monograph Edassery Govindan Nair, in the Makers of Indian Literature series published by Sahitya Akademi, analyses the poetry and social vision of Edassery Govindan Nair (1906–1974), a leading Malayalam poet who helped pioneer the transition from romanticism to realism.
