Louise Levene

Louise Levene writes fiction set against vividly realised historical and cultural backdrops. Her debut novel A Vision of Loveliness was a BBC Book at Bedtime and was longlisted for the Desmond Elliott Prize; her subsequent novels include Ghastly Business and The Following Girls. Happy Little Bluebirds, published in 2018, is a wartime comedy set in 1940s Hollywood. Alongside her fiction, Levene worked as dance critic for the Sunday Telegraph for sixteen years and has written on dance for the Independent and the Financial Times.
