Kunzang Choden

Kunzang Choden was born in Bumthang, central Bhutan, in 1952 and is widely recognised as one of Bhutan's foremost writers in English. She was the first writer to document Bhutan's oral tradition in the English language, with her earlier work including Folktales of Bhutan (1994). Tales in Colour and Other Stories, published by Zubaan in 2009, uncovers the complexity and irony of women's lives in contemporary Bhutan.
