Kshemaraja (late 10th to early 11th century) was a prominent philosopher and disciple of the renowned Kashmir Shaivite master Abhinavagupta. He was a prolific scholar of Tantra, Yoga, poetics, and dramaturgy, known for spreading the message of Shaivism. Kshemaraja authored several original works and commentaries on established texts of Kashmir Shaivism, with his magnum opus being the `Pratyabhijñāhṛdayam` (`The Heart of Self-Recognition`), which elucidates the core tenets of the Pratyabhijñā philosophy. His other significant works include `Spandasandoha`, `Spandaniraya`, and `Shivasūtravimarśinī`, a commentary on the Shiva Sutras. Kshemaraja's `स्तवचिन्तामणि:- Stava Chintamani of Shri Bhatta Narayana` is a commentary on Bhatta Narayana's devotional work, reflecting his deep engagement with Shaiva literature and his commitment to both conserving and reinterpreting texts within his tradition.
