K. R. Srikantha Murthy

K. R. Srikantha Murthy was a distinguished scholar known for his extensive contributions to the study and translation of classical Ayurvedic literature. His works include Biographical History of Indian Medicine, which chronicles the evolution of medical practices in India, and comprehensive editions of foundational texts such as the Illustrated Susruta Samhita (3 Volumes), Astanga Samgraha of Vagbhata (Three Volumes), and Bhavaprakasa of Bhavamisra (Two Volumes). He also contributed to 3 Fundamental Texts of Ayurveda (Susruta Samhita | Astanga Hrdayam | Caraka Samhita). Murthy's translations and commentaries have been instrumental in making these ancient scriptures accessible to modern students and practitioners of Ayurveda, often published by various Chaukhambha imprints, which specialize in Indological and Ayurvedic scholarship.
