K. Kailasapathy

K. Kailasapathy (1933–1982) was a Sri Lankan academic and Tamil literary critic who wrote eighteen books in Tamil and English. He held a PhD from the University of Birmingham, where his doctoral thesis examined Tamil heroic poetry, and served as the first president of the Jaffna Campus of the University of Sri Lanka. His published works in Tamil include studies on the poet Bharati (Paarati Aayvukal), Tamil literary criticism (Ilakkiyamum Tiranaayvum), comparative literature (Oppiyal Ilakkiyam), heroic poetry (Thamizh Veeranilaik Kavithai), and the Tamil novel (Tamiz Naaval Ilakkiyam).
