Jean Marie Verpoorten

Jean Marie Verpoorten (1926–1984) was a Belgian Indologist and scholar of Sanskrit. He specialized in the Mimamsa school of Hindu philosophy, an important tradition focused on the interpretation of the Vedas. Verpoorten contributed to the comprehensive 'A History of Indian Literature' series with his volume 'Mimamsa Literature (A History of Indian Literature, Volume - 6, Fasc. 5),' published by Manohar Publishers And Distributors, which examines the foundational texts and developments of Mimamsa thought.
