Jayantakrishna Harikrishna Dave

Dr. Jayantakrishna Harikrishna Dave (1909-2000) was a distinguished Sanskrit scholar, jurist, and the Honorary Director of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Mumbai. A former judge of the Supreme Court of Saurashtra, he dedicated his later life to scholarship, particularly in the fields of Dharmashastra and Vedanta. His magnum opus is the multi-volume critical edition of the Manu-Smriti, for which he collated and edited the text with nine important classical commentaries, a landmark contribution to the study of ancient Indian law and society.
