Janet Gyatso

Janet Gyatso is the Hershey Professor of Buddhist Studies at Harvard Divinity School and a specialist in Tibetan and South Asian cultural history. She has held leadership positions in the International Association of Tibetan Studies and the American Academy of Religion. Gyatso's research spans Buddhist history, ritual, and ideas, often drawing on cultural and literary theory. In her book In the Mirror of Memory: Reflections on Mindfulness and Remembrance in Indian and Tibetan Buddhism, she explores the concepts of mindfulness and memory within these traditions.
