Jaiwanti Dimri

Jaiwanti Dimri is a bilingual writer, critic, and translator who has published in Hindi and English. She is a recipient of the Arya Smriti Samman (2002) for Hindi short fiction and served as a professor of English at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, with teaching experience in Nigeria, Bhutan, and the United States. She has also been a fellow of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla. Her Hindi novella Surju Ke Naam, transcreated in English as To Surju With Love and published by Orient Blackswan, follows a Jharkhand tribal woman's migration through the borderlands of northeast India into Bhutan.
