Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj al-Naysaburi (c. 817–875 CE) was a leading hadith scholar of the Abbasid era, based in Nishapur. From a corpus of some 300,000 narrations he selected and authenticated approximately 4,000 for his Al-Jami al-Sahih, a work regarded as one of the two most reliable hadith collections in Sunni Islamic scholarship.
