Ihsan Abdel Quddous (1919–1990) was an Egyptian writer, journalist, and editor who worked at Al-Akhbar and Al-Ahram newspapers. He wrote prolifically — his novels and stories generated 49 film adaptations, ten television series, and nine radio dramatisations, and his work has been translated into English, French, German, Ukrainian, Chinese, and Tamil. கிறுக்கி (Kirukki) is the Tamil translation of one of his works, published by Kalachuvadu Publications.
