Ibn Rushd

Ibn Rushd (1126–1198), known in the Latin West as Averroes, was an influential Andalusian polymath who excelled as a philosopher, physician, astronomer, and jurist. Born in Córdoba, his extensive commentaries on Aristotle profoundly impacted Western thought. His major medical work, `كِتَابِ الكليا` (Kitab Al-Kulliyat fi al-Tibb, or The Book of Generalities on Medicine), known in Latin as Colliget, systematically discusses general principles of medicine and is regarded as a foundational text in the history of medicine.
