Ian Talbot with Darshan Singh Tatla

Ian Talbot is an Emeritus Professor of Modern South Asian History at the University of Southampton, specializing in the history of colonial Punjab, the 1947 Partition of India, and the political history of Pakistan. He has authored and co-authored numerous influential books on these subjects, including Divided Cities: Partition and Its aftermath in Lahore and Amritsar 1947-1957 and The Partition of India. Darshan Singh Tatla (1947–2021) was an internationally recognized academic scholar in Punjab and Sikh studies. He earned his PhD from Warwick University and authored foundational works such as The Sikh Diaspora: The Search for Statehood, in addition to being a driving force behind the Punjab Research Group. Together, Talbot and Tatla co-authored Epicentre of Violence Partition Voices and Memories from Amritsar, contributing to the understanding of this tumultuous period.
