Hariprasad Shastri

Hariprasad Gangashankar Shastri (1919–2014) was a historian, epigraphist, and Indologist who spent the bulk of his career at the B. J. Institute of Learning and Research in Ahmedabad, eventually serving as its director. His research focused on the political and cultural history of Gujarat from antiquity, and his Gujarati work on the ancient period of Gujarat's history — published by the University Granth Nirman Board — became a standard reference. He served as founding president of the Gujarat Itihas Parishad.
