Gita Chakravarty

Gita Chakravarty is a scholar of Bengali literature and South Asian history. Her book Bengali Drama (Vol. 1), published by Firma KLM Private Limited, Calcutta, traces the development of Bengali drama from the late eighteenth century to 1900. She is also the author of a bibliography of English and Bengali sources on the Bangladesh movement, 1947–1971, published by the same house, indicating a wider scholarly engagement with Bengali cultural and political history.
