Ghassan Abdul - Jabbar

Ghassan Abdul-Jabbar completed his doctorate in Islamic studies at the University of Chicago and conducted postdoctoral research at Oxford University. His volume Bukhari, part of the Makers of Islamic Civilization series published jointly by Oxford University Press and I.B. Tauris, examines the life and methodology of Imam Bukhari (d. 256/869), the revered compiler of hadith, with particular attention to his approach to questions of textual authenticity and authority.
