Geshe Ngawang Dhargyey

Geshe Ngawang Dhargyey (1921–1995) was a highly respected Tibetan Buddhist master, born in the Trehor district of Kham. After studying at Sera Monastery, he went into exile in 1959 and was appointed chief Dharma teacher at the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives in 1971, a position he held until moving to New Zealand in 1985. He taught thousands of Western students and nine incarnate lamas. Geshe Ngawang Dhargyey is the author of 'Fifty Stanzas on the Spiritual Teacher', a commentary on the traditional Buddhist text, and 'Two Books on Vajrayogini', which provides teachings on the Vajrayogini practice.
