Mahamahopadhyaya Sir Ganganath Jha (1872–1941) was a preeminent Indian Indologist, Sanskrit scholar, and philosopher, celebrated for his profound contributions to Mimamsa, Nyaya, Vedanta, Hindu law, and Buddhist philosophy. He undertook meticulous translations and commentaries on classical Sanskrit texts, earning a knighthood for his scholarly eminence and serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Allahabad University. Jha's extensive literary work includes translations of काव्यप्रकाश (Kavya Prakasha) of Mammata and The Kavyalankar Sutras of Vamana, alongside original works like मीमांसानुक्रमणिका (Mimansa Anukramnika). He also translated and provided commentary on significant legal texts such as मनुस्मृति (Manusmriti).
