Kaviraj Gananath Sen (1877–1945) was a distinguished Ayurvedic physician, Sanskrit scholar, and influential author who played a pivotal role in integrating traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern medical knowledge. He was instrumental in establishing the Ayurvedic Faculty at Banaras Hindu University and founded the Vishwanath Ayurved Mahavidyalaya in Kolkata. Sen authored numerous significant texts, including Pratyakṣaśārīram and सिद्धान्तनिदानम् (Siddhanta Nidanam), the latter being a comprehensive textbook on the etiology, pathology, and symptomatology for Ayurvedic students and practitioners, blending ancient wisdom with contemporary anatomical understanding. He was honored with the title 'Mahāmahopādhyāya' in 1916 and presided over the All-India Ayurvedic Congress multiple times.
