Frankopan Peter

Peter Frankopan is a Senior Research Fellow at Worcester College, Oxford, and Director of the Oxford Centre for Byzantine Research, where he specialises in the history of the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Central Asia. In The Silk Roads he argues that the routes connecting Asia to Europe were the true engine of world civilisation — a reassessment that became a No. 1 Sunday Times and international bestseller. He is also a Professor of Silk Roads Studies at the University of Cambridge and an associate director of the UNESCO Silk Roads programme.
