Ethel Beswisk

Ethel Beswick selected and retold stories from the Jataka, the ancient collection of tales recounting the previous lives of the Buddha, in Jataka Tales: Birth Stories of the Buddha, first published by John Murray in 1956 and later reissued by Book Faith India. Her retellings draw on the underlying moral and spiritual teachings that monks had woven into Indian folklore over centuries.
