Eli Franco & Karin Preisendanz

Eli Franco and Karin Preisendanz are distinguished Indologists who have contributed significantly to Indian and cross-cultural studies. Eli Franco served as Professor of Indology and Director of the Institute for Indology and Central Asian Studies at Leipzig University from 2004 to 2021 and is a member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences. Karin Preisendanz is also a renowned scholar in the field. Together, they edited Beyond Orientalism: The Work of Wilhelm Halbfass and its Impact on Indian and Cross-Cultural Studies, which examines the influential work of Wilhelm Halbfass.
