Aparna Rao and Michael J. Casimir edited Nomadism in South Asia, published by Oxford University Press in 2003 as part of the Oxford India Readings in Sociology and Social Anthropology series. The volume brings together sixteen case studies alongside an introductory essay by the editors, covering the ideology, migration patterns, and livelihoods of nomadic communities across the subcontinent. Rao was a Research Fellow at the Department of Social Anthropology, University of Cologne, and Casimir is Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Cologne.
