Ed Husain

Ed Husain is the author of The Islamist (2007), a memoir of his experience inside radical Islam in Britain, which was shortlisted for the Orwell Prize. He co-founded Quilliam, the counter-extremism think tank, and has since held senior fellowships at the Council on Foreign Relations and other institutions in London and New York, and has served as a professor at Georgetown University. The House of Islam: A Global History draws on that experience to offer a wide-ranging account of Islamic faith, law, art, and the tensions between mysticism and literalism that have shaped the Muslim world.
