Dr. Shyam Bihari Aggarwal and Dr. Jyoti Aggarwal document the history of Indian painting in Hindi across two volumes covering ancient and medieval periods. Dr. Shyam Bihari Agrawal is an artist, art historian, and former professor of painting at Allahabad University. In 2025 he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for his contributions to the arts.
