Dr. H.R. Vishwasa

Dr. H.R. Vishwasa is a distinguished Sanskrit scholar and educator based in Mangalore, India, widely recognized for his contributions to the teaching and promotion of Sanskrit. He has served as the editor of the Sanskrit monthly magazine Sambhashana Sandesha and holds prominent positions within Samskrita Bharati, including Akhil Bharatiya Prashikshana Pramukh (All-India Chief of Teaching) and Prakashana Pramukh (Chief of Publishing). Dr. Vishwasa is an accomplished author of both fiction and non-fiction in Sanskrit, including the novel नातिचरामि (Naaticharaami) and the collection of short stories अर्धजरती (Ardhajaratee). He also penned भुवमानिता भगवभ्दाशा (Bhuvmaaneeta Bhagavad Bhaashaa), a narrative on the revival of Hebrew, and is known for his column 'Sangata' in the newspaper Hosa Digantha. In recognition of his work, he received the Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize in 2010 for translating S. L. Bhyrappa's Kannada novel Aavarana into Sanskrit, and the Sahitya Akademi's Bala Sahitya Puraskar in 2013.
