Dr. A.K. Shastry

Dr. A. K. Shastry (17 March 1940 – 4 January 2020) documents the social, political, economic, and religious history of the Sringeri Dharmasamsthana through 302 select historical records in The Records of the Sringeri Dharmasamsthana. He was the first scholar to extensively study the Sringeri Matha's kadata manuscripts, examining over a hundred thousand palm-leaf and paper documents across four decades of research.
