Dipanwita Roy

Dipanwita Roy is a Bengali writer and journalist primarily known for her children's fiction. She grew up in Asansol and Burnpur, West Bengal, and pursued her graduation and post-graduation in Comparative Literature at Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Roy began her writing career in 2008 and is recognized for her simple style and vivid imagery, often creating a magical world where children interact with nature. Her works, including "The Weaver-Bird's Nest" and "Punti's Wedding (A Pictorial Book)," often convey messages of loving nature and community. In 2024, she was honored with the Bal Sahitya Puraskar by the Sahitya Akademi for her novel 'Mahidadur Antidote'.
