Diksha Basu was born in Delhi and holds a BA from Cornell University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University, where she later joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Writing. After a period acting in Mumbai, she turned to literary fiction; her novel The Windfall (2017) became an international bestseller and a New York Times Editor's Choice, tracing a newly wealthy Delhi family's comic collision with Gurgaon's elite. Her novel Destination Wedding (2020) continues her exploration of identity and aspiration through the eyes of an Indian-American woman navigating a week-long Delhi wedding.
