Chandra Prakash Dewal (born 1949) is an eminent Rajasthani and Hindi poet, translator, and cultural scholar. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1979 for his Rajasthani poetry collection Paagi. In 2011, the Government of India conferred the Padma Shri on him for his significant contributions to Rajasthani literature and education. Dewal has published fourteen collections of poetry and translated major works from various languages, including Fyodor Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment and Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, into Rajasthani. He is also the convener of the Rajasthani Advisory Council of Sahitya Akademi. His work The Tracker - An Anthology of Rajasthani Poetry contributes to the preservation and promotion of Rajasthani folk traditions.
