Chamu Krishna Shastry is an Indian educationist and a key figure in the contemporary movement to revive Sanskrit as a spoken language. He is the co-founder of Samskrita Bharati and secretary of the Samskrit Promotion Foundation, organizations dedicated to popularizing Sanskrit through innovative pedagogical methods like the ten-day spoken Sanskrit course. A graduate of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati, he began the 'Speak Samskrit' movement in 1981. For his contributions to literature and education, he received the Padma Shri from the Government of India in 2017.
