Braja Kishore Swain

Braja Kishore Swain is a Professor and Head of the Dharmashastra department at Shri Jagannath Sanskrit University in Puri, Odisha, where he has taught for three decades. He is the author of 27 books and over a hundred national and international journal articles, specializing in ancient Indian Dharmashastra. His work, The Ceremony Of Sacred Thread: A Study On Its Social Significance, delves into the Upanayana sacrament, drawing from Vedas, Dharmashastras, Grihya Sutras, and Puranas, while also incorporating local customs, particularly those prevalent in Eastern India.
