Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay

Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay (1894–1950) was one of the leading figures of modern Bengali literature, celebrated for his evocative narratives of rural Bengal and adventurous tales. His classic adventure novel, 'The Mountain of the Moon' (চাঁদের পাহাড় - Chander Pahar), first published in 1937, recounts the thrilling exploits of a young Bengali man in the African wilderness. Bandyopadhyay is also famously known for his autobiographical novel, Pather Panchali.
