Bhakti Vikasa Swami was born in England in 1957 and joined the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in London in 1975, where he was initiated by its founder, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. From 1977, he traveled extensively in India, particularly West Bengal, preaching and distributing spiritual books, and later helped establish ISKCON's presence in Bangladesh, Burma, Thailand, and Malaysia. Receiving sannyasa in 1989, he based himself in India and continued to travel globally, delivering lectures and spreading Krishna consciousness. Bhakti Vikasa Swami is a prolific author of books and articles on Krishna conscious topics, with his works translated into over fifteen languages. His published works include `On Pilgrimage in Holy India' and the Kannada translation `ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ ರಾಮಾಯಣ: ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮನ ದಿವ್ಯಚರಿತ್ರೆ- Valmiki Ramayana: Biography of Sri Rama'.
