BHAGIRATH PRASAD TRIPATHI 'VAGISHA SHASTRI'

Vagish Shastri (1934–2022), born Bhagirath Prasad Tripathi, was a renowned Indian Sanskrit grammarian, linguist, tantric practitioner, and yogi. He is best known for developing the Vagyoga method, an innovative mnemonic system for learning Sanskrit grammar, and founded the Vagyoga Chetana Peetham in Varanasi to promote it. A prolific scholar, he served as Director and Professor at the Research Institute of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University for nearly three decades, editing over 300 manuscripts and authoring more than 50 original books on grammar, philology, drama, history, poetry, and metaphysics. The Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri award in 2018 for his significant contributions to literature and education. His works include संस्कृतवांड्मयमन्थनम् (Sanskrit Vandmay Manthanam) and टालस्टाय - कथासप्तकम् (Tolstoy's Stories Translated Into Sanskrit).
