Babbitt Natalie

Natalie Babbitt (1932–2016) wrote and illustrated books for children for five decades. Her novel Kneeknock Rise earned a Newbery Honor in 1971, and her 1975 novel Tuck Everlasting — a meditation on immortality and the value of a finite life — was later adapted into two feature films and a Broadway musical. In 2013 she received the inaugural E.B. White Award for achievement in children's literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Tuck Everlasting follows young Winnie Foster after she discovers the secret of the Tuck family, who drank from a spring that gave them eternal life.
