B.N. Pandit

Balajinnatha Pandit (B.N. Pandit, 1916–2007) was an internationally respected authority on the Trika Saivism of Kashmir. A retired professor of Sanskrit from Himachal University, he received a Certificate of Honour from the President of India for his scholarship. He authored numerous books in Sanskrit, Hindi, and English, including 'History of Kashmir Shaivism' and 'Specific Principles of Kashmir Saivism'. His work स्वातन्त्र्यदर्पण: (Svatantrya-Darpana), composed in Sanskrit couplets with his own English commentary, serves as an introduction to the metaphysical, cosmological, and yogic doctrines of the school.
